What is the longest story arc in One Piece?Currently, the Wano country arc is the longest story arc in One Piece. It includes about 148 chapters and has crossed 110+ episodes in the anime. FYI, the Wano country arc is still ongoing in anime, so there are a lot more episodes to be added to the list. Emmett FitzGerald:I put the top back on the Tupperware and named her Lenny. It turned out that Will had taken about 20 axolotl embryos from a biology lab where they had been discarded. He was raising baby salamanders out of his bedroom and distributing them to friends across campus, along with detailed instructions on how to care for them. I got Lenny a big fish tank and put her right on my mantelpiece.
Emmett FitzGerald:In particular, they focused on the farmers or the chinamperos who still farm on islands in the water. Luis and his partners started working closely alongside them. And the idea was to try and give farmers money and the tools that they needed to improve the habitat around their own piece of land.
Now the chapters and episodes from the series are very, very, very long and there's no way to archive them all since it would be rather hard to see through the various plotlines and character motivations by just the episode and chapter recaps. So how do you recap such a long running series? Why, focus on the story arcs of course. This recap page is meant to detail the main arcs of the series and the tropes contained within.

With over 1,000 episodes to watch, not to mention the various films, specials, OVAs and shorts that are also available, it can be a pretty daunting task in working out how to watch One Piece in order.
In total, you could stay up for two weeks straight and still not have time to binge through this entire saga of over 100 episodes. And that doesn't even include the upcoming One Piece live-action adaptation. In comparison, watching Dragon Ball in order would be significantly quicker, with just over 600 episodes.
As there are over 1,000 episodes to watch, you might be tempted to jump in at a later starting point, but to really enjoy the full experience properly, we do recommend starting at the very beginning and watching One Piece in chronological order.
Alternatively, you could just skip the following filler episodes, instead. While the arcs mentioned above don't add much to the One Piece storyline and canon, they are still entertaining. However, these episodes are slightly different. Anime often use episodes to recap past adventures and give the animators a chance to breathe, so you're not really missing out if these particular episodes don't make it onto your watchlist. Here's a look at the One Piece filler episodes:
If you really want to whizz through One Piece for a taste of what it's like, you could also focus solely on the 15 films that have been released to date. This isn't ideal, though, as a lot happens in the regular episodes between each movie. Still, if that's all you've got time for, here are all the One Piece movies in order of release, as well as how they relate to the main show.
I never thought I would make this episode but here I am. My parents fled from the Islamic Revolution in Iran and it has created a great deal of trauma in my lineage. In this episode, I share the story of a beautiful country that was overtaken by tyrannical patriarchal dictatorship. I discuss why this moment is SO significant, especially as a woman, and why this is the time we need to be EMBODYING the divine feminine we preach about and showing up for our sisters being killed for basic human rights.
Not only was it 90% recap, but also the art director that handle this episode is like my least favorite one. I hope they REALLY AMP up the animation quality for the arc to give it the EPICNESS THAT IS DESERVES.
People will argue about exactly which episodes constitute as filler, but the definition of a filler episode is clearer, thankfully. Filler episodes are any episodes that do not move the main narrative forward or are not based on anything from the source material that inspired the anime.
Another option you have is to watch it on Funimation, which has the Japanese dub, and up to Season 9 or the Fish-Man Island Saga dubbed in English as well (the English dub does require a subscription for most episodes though).
Updated February 16, 2023 by Mark Sammut: One Piece crossed the 1000th episode mark in 2022, and the vast majority of that content is canon. Rather than frequently stop the story dead to head out on a side adventure, Toei has generally opted to slowly adapt the source material to ensure the anime does not catch up to the manga. While not without its negatives, this decision has limited One Piece's need to rely on filler. When one of these sagas shows up, they tend to be short and sweet. Over roughly the last three years, there has been only a single One Piece filler arc, but how does it rank compared to older storylines?
With roughly a thousand episodes (and counting) to sit through, One Piece's sheer size makes the anime a daunting task for people to take on. Eiichiro Oda's manga is a true epic; a series that spans decades and tells a grand tale of ambition, adventure, and resilience. Through the Straw Hats' travels, they experience plenty of highs and lows; tears are shed and laughs are had.
Since there is so much canon content to go through, the filler arcs can feel like they just add to the bloat without contributing enough to justify their existence. Consequently, newcomers to the series might prefer to just skip over the filler material altogether. In order to make that process easier, here is a breakdown of all the filler arcs in the anime along with their respective episodes. Recaps and the Boss Luffy Historical Special episodes will also be included.
Individual One Piece filler episodes have not been included in the table. However, the following episodes are filler: 98-99, 102, 336, 492, 542, 590, and 907 (which will be released on December 26, 2021). 041b061a72
